Why Environmental Education Matters?
In today's context, environmental awareness has become more crucial than ever. Knowingly and unknowingly, we all contribute to environmental degradation — through excessive plastic use, deforestation, pollution, and unsustainable daily practices. Recognizing this, CP Nepal has made environmental education an integral part of its community programs.
We work through our Mothers' Groups and the students we support to build this awareness from the ground up. Environmental discussions are woven into our regular activities: during monthly micro-credit meetings with Mothers' Groups, environmental protection is always on the agenda, and it remains a recurring topic in our student meetings as well. In addition, we conduct crash courses and awareness sessions in schools and classrooms, equipping young people with the knowledge and motivation to protect their environment.
Through these consistent, community-rooted efforts, CP Nepal aims to reduce local contributions to global warming and nurture a generation of environmentally responsible citizens — because saving the environment begins with everyday choices made in our own homes, schools, and villages.
