Unleashing Impact: A Personal Reflection on Real Leaders Unite

Updated: Feb 12

I recently had the opportunity to attend the prestigious Real Leaders Impact Awards. Our charity, Creating Possibilities Nepal, was selected as one of the top impact companies in the category of "Intention - The Most Valuable Mission". The experience was filled with pleasure, excitement, and a touch of nervousness as I found myself surrounded by over 100 CEOs who were all purposefully working towards making a difference.

Being the only CEO representing a charity made the experience both unfamiliar and intriguing. However, the warmth and open-mindedness of the CEOs made me feel welcomed and embraced in this extraordinary gathering.

Welcomed with Open Arms:

During the three-day event held from February 5th to 7th, 2024, Marty Pistone, the owner of REALTOR®, and Carolyn Pistone, the President and Managing Director at Clear Blue Commercial, served as my mentors. They helped me navigate through the sea of unfamiliar faces and made me feel at home.

Inspiring Ideas and Collaborations:

The event emphasized the power of collaboration, belief in oneself, the art of storytelling, breaking barriers, and being socially and environmentally responsible. I took the opportunity to humbly request the CEOs to consider supporting and contributing more donations towards social causes. Although most of them were already actively giving back to those in need and working towards combating climate change, I believed that their continued support could make an even greater impact on society.

Heightened awareness and Sense of responsibility

One of the most impressive aspects of the Real Leaders Impact Awards Program was the heightened awareness and sense of responsibility displayed by the CEOs who participated. They were conscious of their actions and made deliberate efforts to contribute positively to society while also protecting the environment. The CEOs recognized that their businesses were not solely profit-driven, but were motivated by a desire to make a difference in the world. The discussions during the program focused on disruptive innovation, incubating new ideas, altruism, and the importance of balancing profit with purpose. The Real Leaders Impact Awards program provided many valuable insights and takeaways, and although the sessions primarily focused on private companies, the ideas and experiences shared were highly relevant to charities as well.

Together, we can create possibilities:

The Real Leaders Impact Awards Program showed me the power of collective action. We may be a small charity, but we are part of a global movement toward a better future. We can create endless possibilities for those in need with continued collaboration and innovation. This wasn't just an award – it was a call to action. The dedication and passion of these CEOs fueled my own. We at Creating Possibilities Nepal are now even more determined to empower mothers, educate girls, and transform lives.

Well Managed Ceremony:

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Julie Van Ness, the CEO of Real Leaders, for organizing such a well-executed event. The event was truly inspiring and a privilege to be a part of.

I was impressed by Kevin Edwards, who is the host of the Top 100 US Business News Podcast and the President of Real Leaders. His speeches were insightful and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impression on me. I hope to have the opportunity to come on his podcast one day.

I would a like to thank Tiffany Saunders, the Director of Member Impact of Real Leaders, and the other staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the event a success. Their friendly and approachable attitude made the event even more enjoyable.

A Heartfelt Thank You:

I am immensely grateful for the invaluable support extended to me, making this transformative experience possible. I sincerely appreciate my sincere gratitude to Sure Call Contact Centers, Her International -Canada, Himalayan Children's Charity-USA, and Liesbeth Nagelkerke from Reach Out 2 - Netherlands.

Their unwavering generosity has enabled me to be present in the moment and provided the opportunity to learn and share the inspiring story of CPN. Their support has enriched this journey, and I am genuinely thankful for their kindness and belief in the power of positive change.

Conclusion:

Attending the Real Leaders Impact Awards Program was a transformative experience for me and Creating Possibilities Nepal. It was truly inspiring to witness the dedication and passion of CEOs from various companies and to see how their actions were making a difference in the world. The event showcased the importance of collaboration, innovation, and social responsibility across all sectors, including charities. As I left the program, I felt motivated to continue our work in Nepal, knowing that we were part of a global movement focused on creating a better future for all. I am grateful for the support and warmth shown by Marty Pistone, Carolyn Pistone, and all the other CEOs who welcomed me with open arms. Overall, the Real Leaders Unite event was an unforgettable experience, and I am grateful to the organizers for creating such an impactful and inspiring event.
