In the same week, Creating Possibilities Nepal marked the completion of two very different programs — one for mothers learning to read and manage money, one for teenagers learning to lead. Both ceremonies told the same underlying story.

Creating Possibilities Nepal | April 24 & 25, 2026 |

Creating Possibilities Nepal celebrated the graduation of 300 women from the 4-Month Literacy and Financial Literacy Program, and 86 young people from the We Create Youth Leadership Program. Together, 386 people completed structured, months-long programs designed to shift how they see themselves — and what they believe they can do.

What stood out in both ceremonies wasn't the certificates. It was who ran the room.

Program 01 — Literacy and Financial Literacy: 300 Women, 10 Mothers Groups

For four months, women from 10 Mothers Groups across Gadhawa Rural Municipality attended financial literacy classes — learning to read, write, and do basic arithmetic, alongside practical skills in business planning, household financial management, and women's health awareness.

Many of these women began the program unable to write their own names. By graduation day, they stood on stage and spoke in front of a room — clearly, confidently, without assistance. That is not a small thing.

Participants also offered candid feedback: the course materials needed minor improvements, and the program duration — currently four months — should be extended to six to allow deeper learning. These are suggestions worth taking seriously.

Perhaps the most significant detail: the women didn't just attend the program. They organized and ran the graduation ceremony themselves. The event was emceed by Hiramoti Chaudhary of Joti UNAKO Mothers Group, and participants, including Sarita Uchai Magar, Chair of Bhulke Mothers Group, spoke about their journeys and the changes they had experienced.

The program was implemented with support from five partner organizations: Her International, ISVG-2, Sure Call, Mahamata, and RFEF.

Program 02 — We Create: 86 Young People, Ages 13–18

Since August 2024, participants from four groups have met every Friday and Saturday, working through 19 chapters of the We Create Program. These weren't passive lessons — they were sessions designed to push young people to think, reflect, and act differently: about the decisions they make, how they manage relationships, and how they understand themselves.

The We Create Program, supported by Her International and implemented by Creating Possibilities Nepal, targets adolescents aged 13–18. It focuses on what most classrooms don't make room for: life skills and leadership. Most school time goes toward exams and marks. This program tries to fill what is left out.

On graduation day, the participants organized and ran the ceremony themselves — standing in front of the room with a confidence that simply wasn't there when they started.

A shared thread

"Women who began unable to write stood on stage and spoke. Teenagers who once sat quietly organized the room they stood in. In both cases, the program didn't just teach — it shifted something."

Both ceremonies were attended by Lek Bahadur Thapa, Ward Chair of Ward No. 5, Gadhawa Rural Municipality; Sharda Kumari Chaudhary, Deputy Chair; and CPN Director Dinesh Raj Sapkota — all of whom affirmed their belief that programs like these are essential to building communities where women and young people lead, not just participate.

Certificates went to all 386 graduates. People who showed up, did the work, and saw it through.

Congratulations to all 386 graduates. 300 women. 86 young people. One community moving forward together.
