Empowerment Through Education (ETE)

Schooling and  Support for Marginalized Girls

Initially, this program was launched by the generous support of Her International.  Due to overwhelming success, this model is supported by many of our other International Partners as well.  Currently, we provide scholarships, school expenses, uniforms and personal hygiene items for 425 girls annually.

At the core of this programs success is the inclusion of the students family unit.  Each child who is offered a scholarship much have a family member attend the local Mothers Group to reinforce the need for education and self-reliance on both a personal and financial level.  More details on The Mothers Groups can be found under ‘Women Empowerment’.

The Kamalari system was abolished by the government in 2013.
